IB forex real-time data realiability

Hi, I'd like to use IB realtime data for my forex trading.
Is the data realiable on ninja charting?

Yes, however you can only receive IB forex data with NinjaTrader 6.5 beta version, which you can download from the link below.

I was able to connect to NT 6.5 thru IB. I don't see any historical data.
Do you know if IB supports historical data?

Hi JC,

IB supports historical minute and daily data. Unfortunately, historical tick data is not supported. Upon creating a chart in NinjaTrader, you can specify the amount of historical data you like to display using the Format Data Series window. More information can be found in the link below.

Hi Jason,

There is only limited period of data can be retreived from IB - for example GBPUSD, for daily chart - less than 50 days. There is no way for me to analyse weekly or monthly charts. Furthermore, the speed is extremely slow (even after first time loading) when I switch from one time frame to another (eg. 240mins to dialy).

Is there any way that I can load years of historical data from IB into local harddisk (or another other good providers that do so - I wouldn't mind change it) and continue from it so that I can analyse chart more effectively? the best is with tick historical data as IB doesn't support historical tick data.

You should be able to load as many days of data as IB will allow you. If you need more data you will need to find a different data provider that provides more. Please see the list of data providers here: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...HistoricalData
