Reversing Position

Hi,

I am interested if with NinjaTrader Ican do the following:

Trading futures, I enter using a stop-limit order with an attached stop, no target. I want to also enter an order to reverse the postion with an attached stop, so I can set it and forget it as I am away from the screen?

For example, trading ES: initial order stop-limitbuy 1@ 1280.50(limit)1280 (stop)

attached stop:sell 1@ 1279.0(limit) 1279.5(stop)

and also add another sell 1@ 1279.0 (limit) 1279.5(stop)

with attached stop buy 1@ 1281(limit) 1280.5 (stop)

Two options:

1) You can place two entry stop limit orders as you have described but the stop loss that is automatically submitted can't be 2 ticks apart. Either uses a stop market or a stop limit with a 20 tick spread. This is because NT auto stop loss orders are designed to get you out.

or

2) You can place the first entry stop limit as described, once placed, you can Enable Reverst at Stop (via right click mouse menu) which will submit a stop entry order identical to the initial stop loss. It will reverse with the same automatic stop loss parameters as the first order.

On option 1, make sure that you re-select the correct strategy template for the 2nd entry order in the strategy drop down list. Make sure it is not set to the first active strategy (first order).
