How to stop NT7 steal focus in Win7?

Back in the Ninja saddle after few years, this time running on Windows7.

I have a major issue with Ninja stealing focus (incl latest version 22).

If NinjaTrader is running, but not the active window, because i'm working in an other application, NT can take over the active window status. This means when you busy typing something in say Excel, suddenly your keystrokes end up in NT.

This is very undesirable and even unsafe behaviour as it's not unthinkable a certain key sequence might effect ordering.

In Win XP this was fixable by editing the Windows registry, in W7 that's not the case anymore. http://superuser.com/questions/18383...stealing-focus


That's why NT should be configurable to NOT to behave this way.

I'm not sure if there is such a setting, couldn't find this issue in the forum, hence my new post/question.

What is NinjaTrader doing to take focus on your computer? Is a strategy doing some sort of action? Is there an alert?

Hi Brandon,

I can't check right now, but i'm not using alerts. Did have some connection status issues with version 21 on mondaynight, but i think it took focus on other occasions as wel, just not sure what the reason was.
I will try and find the reason(s) and post it.

After some extended testing, couldn't find any other event but the 'connection status' that grabbed focus.

Something i can live with as long as it's not happening all over the place like in version 21.
