Trouble Connecting to Data Feed

I am running NinjaTrader on a windows emulator, similar to VMware because I have a Mac. I have full connection to the internet on windows, but I have having difficulty getting historical data to appear for a backtest of a test strategy. Readout on all backtests appear as zeros, and there is no indication elsewhere that data is connected, although I have made attempts to do so. Any advice?

Who are you connected to? This is displayed in the lower left hand corner of the Control Center

Is this a custom strategy or one of the pre-built ones?

Can you test with the SampleMACross and get the same results?

Thanks for your response Cal. I am connected to Kinetick End of Day. I just tried a backtest of SampleMACross in the strategy analyzer and still got the same results, 0.00 across the board. I appreciate any help you can give me.

With the Kinetick End of Day you can only use Daily data for backtesting and charting.

Is this what you are using for the back test?

Wow, yeah that would make sense, hence the "end-of-day." That worked, thanks for your help. One last question, is there a way to get historical intraday data free for backtest purposes? I suppose I could format the data into a text file and import myself?

Yes, you can format it yourself.
