Ninja Trader Free Licence and Paper Trading

Greetings, I am developing strategies and need to test them using interactive brokers, I have a paper trading account with them that will best allow me to test my real time strategies against their platform. Is this possible with the free version, use it against a paper trading account? Of course I would like to make sure all running smoothly before buying your (excellent) product. Thank you.

Hello mbull,

Unfortunately this is not possible. The free version is limited to trade the NinjaTrader sim101 account. If you like to trade an external account, whether paper or live, you will need a live license key.

You can test using the Sim101 account and the IB datafeed. Execution is not quite on their platform, but close enough. Otherwise, rent the minimum license, and you can test against their test account, which would, of course, be executing on their servers.
