NT7 does not start (w/solution)

Hi,
today my NT7 refused to start. No error messages, no records in the log/trace, nothing in EventLog. It just "flashed" in the running processes and exited. Yesterday, everything was ok...

To make a long story short, the problem was "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319 \" newly added to the PATH env. variable. Silly. NT7 is obviously alergic to .NET 4.

I spent half a day to figure this out...

I'm having issues with NT7 of crashing on startup and no log being created. I reformatted my PC and I'm running .NET 4.5.
My question is, what exactly was done for the fix coz I seem to not follow

I found this post earlier today searching for why my NT7 32bit won't run on my new 64bit laptop. (nothing happens).

NT7 64BIT works fine.

NT8 beta3 32bit and 64bit work fine also.

So are both of your icons (32/64bit) not working?

It must have been infecting my computer from the start. I did a recovery and it started fresh. NT7-32bit would not still run on win7 64bit. I installed all the updates... anyways - I re-read your post, and went looking for it, and found it there in the PATH.

Removed it, and it now works for me. Thanks a bazillion!!

So that I can look in to why NinjaTrader is not starting for you please contact me by email at PlatformSupport [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com. In the message please include a link to this forum thread and a copy of today's trace file. You will find the trace file in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder. I will need a copy of the file which is named 'trace.20150720.txt'.

Read this. I found that path mentioned in the variable. I carefully removed it.

Could some one kindly explain what I need to do address the problem, I have the same issue in wondows 7, ninjatrader just loads itself, and then disappears.

What do I need to delete or modify in terms of the "path"?

After sending my log file to an admin, it was discovered that my issue was a corrupt windows 7 font file. I replaced it and N7 has been firing on all cylinders

thank you engagyzer, I suspect that I did have a corrupt file in windows 7. I upgraded to windows 10 just now, ninjatrader is working properly now.
