    Renko, P & F

    Hello

Can Renko, P&F charts be plotted on instruments with EOD data or custom instruments for which available data is 1 minute OHLC?

NT issues no errors, no warning messages to give clue to problems when it is unable to plot a chart. So, users in my company often sit staring at a blank chart for minutes waiting for something to appear before realizing that NT did not like something. Is there any error message setting that can be enabled?

Second setting is changing default number of days to plot from 5 to 500. When one plot tick data, 5 days is enough. For EOD data, it is minimum 500, so maybe it should be automatically linked to the granularity of data beinge used to plot the series.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us.

Since Renko and P&F charts are built using tick data it is not possible to backfill this type of chart when connected to a EOD provider who offers daily data only. An overview of the different types of data which each provider offers can be found at this link to our Help Guide: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...rical_data.htm

In terms of changing the default lookback period for your daily charts, please right click on the 'Days to Load' property and select the 'Set Default for Period Type..' option which appears.

      Kyle,

Thank you for replying and confirming what I doubted about Renko and P&F. I wish they were plottable on a minute data, perhaps a little inaccurate but nevertheless clear.

Did you miss the middle para from my earlier post?

        cdjindia,

Unfortunately, there is not an optional error message which can be enabled.
