Lastly, I know I have to keep a window open when recording data, so what happens if I temporarily turn off my computer during the day, let's say for 30 minutes. Will that 30 minutes of data just be skipped over? What about the overnight data? Will it simply not be there? I start trading at 0930 ET, but use the overnight data for reference. Thanks for your time.

Question about "record for replay" function
I am familiar with "download for replay" function. I how to do it, and I know where the files are stored. I am interested in using the "record for replay" function instead. I know what button to click to activate "record for replay". But I am wondering is the data going to be stored in the same folder as the downloaded "market replay" data, or is it stored elsewhere? To playback the data that I recorded, do I it the same way I am already familar with? (i.e., disconnect the live connection, and connect to "market replay), or is there a different process?

Hello,
Thank you for your post.
All replay data would continue to be stored in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > DB > Data folder. Likewise, playback of this data would use exactly the same process which you are already familiar with from using downloaded replay data.
In terms of your last question, data is recorded only when NinjaTrader is running and connected to the data feed. If NinjaTrader is disconnected for any period of time that data would be missing within the replay file.
If other questions come up please let me know.KyleNinjaTrader Customer Service

Thank you. I guess I will have to continue to use the download for replay function as it allows me to get all the day I need. My live-feed data provider is CQG. The data provider for Ninja Trader's Market Replay is Zen, according to what I was told. The ticks come out a little differently, as a result. In your opinion, do you think this fact will affect my practice? I am studying price action trading. It would be nice if I had CQG data to practice with, but how important do you think this is for preparing myself to day trade live?
