    Problem connecting to IB TWS

    Hi,

    I'm having problems connecting TWS and Ninjatrader7 today... I have been using them for months without problems, but i don t know what's happening today, a message apeared saying:

    "Login failed: IB.Adapter.MessageLoop Se produjo un error dirante el intento de conexión ya que la parte conectada no respondió adecuadamente tras un periodo de tiempo, o bien se produjo un error en la conexión de esta."

    In English: it says something like: "Login failed: IB.Adapter.MessageLoop, an error apeared while trying to connect because the connected response part wasn't correct after a long time, or an error apeared in that conection."

    It doesn't talk about any IP problem as i read in other posts

    I tried to reinstall Tradestation and Ninjatrader7 but the problem is still here. I also tried to install TWS from your guide link "http://www.ninjatrader.com/ConnectionGuides/Interactive-Brokers-Connection-Guide.php"

    My configuration in both programs is ok, as i said, i have been using them for months, activeX and Socket square is ticked and my connection tools in ninjatrader as well.

    Could you please help me? (Sorry for my english level)

    This is very interesting: are you saying that you're using Ninja V.18 with Interactive Broker''s TWS and you still can't connect? If so, this would be really bad as it could indicate that there's a problem with Ninja as well, rather than just with Zen Fire. I'm obviously just taking a wild guess here as up until now the problems have only been with Ninja in combination with Zen Fire.

        Have you at Host (optional) localhost completed? under password, I know the numbers sometimes cause problems

          Hello Clioloko,

          Normally the error message you receive comes up when:
          - An incorrect version of TWS is installed. Can you confirm you have installed TWS 938.1
          - When the account connection configuration has not been set up correctly.

          Please double check to see if you have not missed something accidentally:

            Well, the setup that i downloaded was from that link, i have just reinstalled it before this reply and the problem is still here.

            When i go to "about Trader Worstation" y read exactly this:

            I think it's correct.

            With host you mean the number 7496 from API? If its that, it's the same number y both programs, I use default parameters, the same configuration than i used last months and i hadn't any problems until today. I think that TWS works fine and the problem comes from ninjatrader. One of the things i can't see now is "SIM101" in ninja

              We've not seen any other reports so most likely it's something local.

              Please send a note to support at ninjatrader dot com and refer to this post. Include in this note the Log and Trace file for today so we can further investigate.

              You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
              • The log file will be named "log.20140102.txt"

              You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
              • The trace file will be named "trace.Y20140102.txt"

                Could i send it to you by pm Vince? I have problems with outlook configuration, i tried but i couldn't send the email frrom ninja website

                  Hello Clioloko,

                  Are you able to send from a different email address? Otherwise can you send from within the software under Help--> Mail to support.

                      It works now, thank you Vince.

                      For those who has the same problem, the problem was in the host section, i changed default parameters by "localhost" in Ninja account connection, now it's working.
