Connections question

[Snatch]

Hi all I am new to Ninja Trader platform, I think is great, I just have some questions if somebody more experienced could answer I would appreciate it.

I have the free version and In the control center I have a few options to connect to:

External data feed
Global Sim
Kinetic End of Day (Free)
Market Replay Connection
Simulated Data Feed

Can you explain to me the difference between these? I have done some research, but I don't quite get it. Which one of these is best or the closest to a live trading?

Hi Snatch,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Forums!

These connections are part of the NinjaTrader system and do not carry any real-time intraday data. The Kinetick End of Day carries Daily data but would not be able to connect for a live trade through that connection

Hi thanks for your prompt reply. Can you tell me how can I get real time? Also if I want to try my indicator which of the free modes is best to do that in your opinion?

You will need to have an account with one of our supported data providers that you can review from the link below -

This will have a list of supported data providers and what they offer.

The Simulated Data feed would be the best since will allow you to test it out in different market conditions.

Hi, I noticed that when I trade with the simulated data feed, each time when I disconnect and coinnect again it starts from the same point when the first day started 98.75, even though I save my workspace and I load it when I start again. I don't know why. How can I make it start from the point where I stop the previous day?

Hello,

This is the expected behavior of the Simulated Data Feed. NinjaTrader would create fake data starting at this value each time you disconnect/reconnect. There is no way to force the simulated data feed to continue on from where you left off unfortunately.
