Missing ATM strategies after db reset

I was having problems again this morning with either data and/or workspaces. After trying several things, I opted to reset the database out of desperation. That did not work either.

I decided it must be a corrupt workspace and started rebuilding it from scratch. Now that I have have my workspace rebuilt and the data seems to be cooperating, I see that my custom ATM Strategies are all missing.

Can I assume that was a result of resetting the database? If yes, is "the database" the NinjaTrader.sdf file? If yes, then if I have a backup of the database file independent of the NT backup process and can restore it, is there any other files I need to restore as well?

Because of resetting the database file, ATM strategy templates, session templates, custom instruments and instrument lists will need to be recreated.

Yes this is correct, the NinjaTrader database is named "NinjaTrader.sdf"


If you have an independent copy of the database file, you will not require any other files. To use this file see the steps below:

• Shut down NinjaTrader
• Navigate to the following folder:
  C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Documents\NinjaTrader 7\db
• Right mouse click on the NinjaTrader.sdf file > Rename > Rename to "NinjaTraderOLD" or something similar to let you know that this is not the database to use.
• Copy and paste your backup database file into this db folder
• Restart NinjaTrader and it will use the NinjaTrader.sdf file in the db folder.
