Real orders processing NT-Broker-Exchange

Hi Ninjas,

Imagine an Algo that has to submit two orders: 1. Exit-Long and 2. Enter-Short , if you write them in that order exactly in your code, will those orders be processed in electronic trading ALWAYS in that specific order? I mean: will those orders keep the same order throughout the whole electronic process ( sent from NT, received and accepted by your broker, sent to the exchange in executed ) ?

Or is it better submit one first and once is confirmed that is done, then send the other one because it's possible that in the process the order might be altered?

Due to market dynamics, I'd like to submit the 2 orders, in that logic order, but without waiting for confirmation to prevent stay far behind in the queue

In general, the orders should process in the sequence they were called. But Due to the multi-threaded nature of order processing, and delays/errors/rejections that can occur over the broker/exchange infrastructure, I would not say there is any gurantee that the order you submitted would be persisted if they were very close in time.

With that said, I'd recommend confirming the order state before firing off the second order.
