Profits run

Is it possible to create a buy/stop order as well as a stop/loss order, but not a target? If the position has a profit, I want to let the profit run, while protecting my position with the stop/loss order, until I move the s/l order to break even. I want to exit the position when I want to, not when I have to limit the profit with a target order.

Is this possible using the Direct edition of NT?

Thank you for contacting us.

When using an ATM Strategy, the Profit Target field could be set to zero to generate a strategy without a Profit Target order. Since the Direct edition of the software doesn't include this feature you'll be limited to manually placed/managed Market, Limit, Stop Limit and Stop Market orders however.

Additional question: I want to use the Sample MA Crossover strategy. I noticed while using Sim that the strategy does not use a profit target or stop/loss. How can I automate those for this strategy?

Dale, that's correct the sample would just reverse on the crossing and then ExitOnClose at session end. You can though make a copy of the script via the NinjaScript editor and then include calls to SetProfitTarget and SetStopLoss for example to have it exit by those as well.
