Mail Setup Clarification Requested.

Mail setup (Tools->Options->Misc) says "leave blank for default". What is the default? Despite trying many different email addresses in the "Mail alert messages to:" field (yes, I did click OK each time) I have been unable to ever successfully complete the "Test".
This leads me to conclude that "There is no default". Is this correct?

Two suggestions: Stop closing the window when OK is clicked; and if there actually is no default, stop indicating that there is.

Default would be setting no email address.

After you have input your email information, press 'OK' to commit the changes and then reopen the Tools -> Options -> Misc tab to send the test email.

Thank you for your quick reply. I now understand what NT's meaning of "default" is. I was aware of the link you provided and found it quite useful in configuring a server.
Really, I was looking for clarification if sendmail should work when the setup was blank... and you have provided that.
