ATM is disabling a running Strategy

Is there any way to prevent chart trading with an ATM from disabling a Strategy running in the Command Center / Strategies tab on the same instrument?

Hi Turtle Trader,

It's not possible to run an automated strategy and trade manually with chart trader in the same chart.
Please avoid using chart trader in any chart that has an automated strategy running.

The strategy is not on the chart, it is running in the Strategy tab of the Control Center...

Do you mean "on the same instrument" or "on the same chart"?

I meant in the same chart.

Am I correct in understanding that you want to run an ATM Strategy as well in chart trader next to the one you have running in the Strategies tab?
If so, try setting up under Properties in Chart trader--> ATM Strategy Selection Mode--> Display Selected ATM Strategy Only first before submitting the ATM Strategy in Chart trader.

On the same instrument, say for example GC 02-14, I have

1) A Strategy running on the Control Center / Strategies tab against GC 02-14

2) A Chart with GC 02-14, where I trade with ChartTrader/ATM.

when I manually trade with the ATM on the Chart, in some cases it disables the Strategy running in the Control Center / Strategies tab.

That is the problem


In Chart Trader I have the property:

I use KeepSelectedATMStrategyTemplateOnOrderSubmission. If I remember right, I needed to do this so that ChartTrader does not change the ATM to the specific active trade. I need it to keep the original ATM template selected because at times I am a very active scalper and can't always be selecting the ATM to set the trade up. I need the ATM Template (the combobox) to stay the same until I manually change it.

You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.

• The log file will be named "log.20131219.txt"
