NinjaTrader Not Opening - Windows 8.1 & Parallels

    NinjaTrader Not Opening - Windows 8.1 & Parallels

    I get an error message when I try to open Ninja Trader. It was just installed for the first time on Mac OSX, Parallels with Windows 8.1 Preview. See screenshots for the error messages that I received.

    I have operated Ninja Trader in Windows 8.1 Preview using Parallels previously (different install which I deleted). It is not a problem with my MacBook Air, OSX or Parallels. Something to do with the install or .NET etc?

    Thank you for your post today.

    Can you please send an email to support at ninjatrader dot com, referring to this post and include in the email your log and trace file.

    You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
    • The log file will be named "log.20131122.txt"

    You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
    • The trace file will be named "trace.20131122.txt"

      I have the same problem. Is there anyone who can solve this for me? Thanks in advance.

        Hello,

        Thank you for contacting us to report the issue.

        Due to a requirement of NinjaTrader's database, we will need to uninstall NinjaTrader and change Parallels so as to disable the folder linking between the Mac OS file system and the Windows Documents folder.

        Please start by removing NinjaTrader via the Windows Control Panel.


        After removing NinjaTrader, please take the following steps to reconfigure Parallels:
        1. Start Parallels and select your virtual machine
        2. Press the "Configure" button on the top
        3. Under "Options", select "Sharing"
        4. Uncheck "Share Mac" under "Share Mac User Folders with Windows"
        5. Press "OK" and start the virtual machine


        Finally, reinstall NinjaTrader via this link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/download-registration


        After reinstalling, you should be able to use NinjaTrader however if you run in to any other errors when starting the software please let me know.
