    Chart Not Receiving Data

    Hi-

    I am trying to open additional charts in my ninja instance and when I go file>new.chart, a chart pulls up but then nothing populates it and it sits there blank.

    I have 3 other charts up and running no problem, but this only occurs when i try to open new ones. I am looking at currency pairs and using esignal for the connection. Data is coming in to the control center.

    Please advise.

    Thanks for the post.

    For what instrument is this?
    Can you check the log tab in the control center, are there any error messages listed?
    Also, what version of NinjaTrader do you have installed? Our current release is V7.0.1000.16 which you can check under Help--> About.

      HI Vince,

      As I mentioned, I am looking at FX currency pairs. I am using ninja version 6.5 (ninja 7 doesn't support esignal for FX). There are no error messages in the logs.

        Hi Hilojack,

        Can you please send an email to support at ninjatrader dot com, put 'For Vince' in the subject header and refer to this post.

        Include in this email your log and trace file from today.


        You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > Log folder.
        • The log file will be named "log.20131111.txt"

        You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 6.5 > Trace folder.
        • The trace file will be named "trace.20131111.txt"

          Hi Vince,

          Those dates do not exist in both my log and trace files... which I'm going to guess is part of the problem.

          The latest date for the trace and log folders is: 20131107

          Please advise.

            Hi Hilojack,

            That is strange. Can you reboot your machine and then see if the files show up. If they are, please send them over as instructed in my earlier post.

              Hi Vince-

              The second re-boot actually worked-- added the trace and the log files AND allows me to pull up the charts that was the initial problem. So problem solved.
