I’ve restarted Ninja and I’m now seeing bars back to the start of the new contract (YM 06-15). How do I include on the chart data for the last contract prior to roll-over (YM 03-15)?

    Thanks

By default, NinjaTrader automatically merges data from previous expiries in charts. It merges data as per the rollover date that is setup in NinjaTrader.

You can find the rollover dates as follows. Please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Instrument Manager, highlight the YM futures and click Edit. Select the Misc-tab and click the 'Contract Months' option at the bottom. Click the '...' button that appears. You will now see the expiry months with the rollover dates.

So the YM 06-15 uses an rollover date of 3/12/2015. If you create a YM 06-15 chart that requests historical data before this date, it is loaded from the 03-15 expiry month.

Thank you for very quick resonse Jason. This is all sorted now ~ I hadn't realsied that when you change the from Minute to Tick charts it changes the days to load (to a default setting presumambly). So I was only seeing a few days data which by co-incidence took it back the rollover day.

You can save the 'Days to load' setting as follows.

Please open the Data Series menu and select a Tick interval.
Set the 'Days to load' setting as you like.
Right click in the grid and select 'Set Default For Tick Period Type'.

Subsequently it will always use the 'Days to load' setting you saved when switching to a Tick chart.
