Scrolled box in a post.

I saw in another post somewhere, the author had placed a scrollable box ( or window) in which he placed code . could someone tell me how to do this please ?

In a forum post, like I am posting now, he/she had somehow managed to put another scrollable window in which example code was placed. I have a long piece of code I want to post and would like to do the same if poss.
