    Problem with CQG

Hello. It looks like the CQG historical server has crashed again, I can see onle real time quotes. How long it will not work? And what's about missed data?
    Thanks.

    Hi Skytrader,

    Thanks for your post.

There was an issue with the CQG historical data server where it needed to be reset. Data is missing from 8:35 PM Eastern last night till 3:26 AM Eastern this morning.

Our IT department will be looking to backfill the missing data this coming weekend.

OK Vince, since I am also missing this data, I have question for you.

If I were to remain connected overnight and populated the data from CQG (on the ES for example), would I lose it all when I restarted the platform in the morning in order to reset my indicator's data points (ie, PP,S1,R2, etc.?)

      Thanks

        Hello BigAAPL,

Yes, unfortunately you would lose the overnight data when you restart as the CQG data will be reloaded from the moment you're connected.

Thanks for responding Vince. Under Tools/Options/Data/Real Time Data there is the option to Save chart data as historical. If this box were checked, would your answer be the same?

            Hi BigAAPL,

Yes, my answer would be the same with this feature checked.

What then is the use of the facility? It says quite clearly to "Save chart data as historical". Your answer implies that the data is being ignored as historical data, and missing data will not be filled by using the recorded data. So< i repeat: why does the capability even exist?

                  Koganam,

This feature is meant, when enabled, to store real time Chart data to the local PC for future historical data requests and was designed for providers who do not support historical data.. However, when connected to a provider that supports historical data the feature would need to be disabled.

In addition, when you connect to a provider who provides historical data, it will override the data that has been stored as the historical data that is provided will be displayed.
