Can't trade equities or FX on a Sim101 account

Hi,

I can't seem to place any simulation orders on a Sim101 account in Equities or FX...

Futures work like a dream...

Any ideas why?

What error do you get? Please check your logs.

Hi Dierk...

I don't get an error... it just says,

"Submitting order without strategy"

And that's it... the fill never comes back...

Please do the following -

- Connect to Simulated Data Feed
- In Control Center window, select a stock
- Does market data display and is moving?
- If yes, place a market order
--> Does this work?

Well, when I only connect the 'simulated data' feed, I CAN trade FX no problem.... But I can't trade equities.

For instance I'm trying to place an order in Apple... and under 'simulated data' I don't even get any prices for Apple.

Any ideas...?

Please check the logs: You need to stuff in a starting price in Tools->Instrument manager

Thanks Dierk. Done that. I added a price for 'sim data' to the Instrument manager and I can now submit prices to Sim101 in Equities & FX.

However, when I come out of the 'simulated data' feed... and return to Interactive Brokers data feed, I still cannot trade FX or Equities into the Sim101 account via the live IB feed.

Again, the logs just say,

'order submitted without strategy'

and it never comes back with any more than that...

Any ideas...?

- please make sure you are on latest 6.5.0.10
- please try Tools->Options->Misc->Reset instruments

Yup. Did that. Rebuilt instruments.

Restarted NT... still can't trade FX or Equities into a Sim101 account via a live IB data feed.

Exactly the same message as before in the logs...

Any further ideas...?

Sorry, I'm out of ideas. It works here no problem:
- connect to IB demo
- select EURUSD on the control panel
- select SIM101 account
- press Buy->order is filled right away

Surely they're has to be a a way to get this resolved...? Surely there's something that can be done to investigate further or escalate the probelm...?

Doing some further investigation myself Dierk... I've just got it working...

Basically if I connect Interactive Brokers data feed on it's own OR first... then I can trade FX & Equities into Sim101 (IB supplies the data feed for both of those instruments)...

However, If I connect IB second... behind Zen Fire, which I am using for futures... then I can no longer trade Equities or FX into Sim101 via IB data...

I get the same message in the logs as before.

Hopefully this should help in making sense of the problem... and making it easier to isolate....??
