    Eurodollar GE beyond 11-15

    Hi,

    How do I add expiration dates to the Instrument Manager?
    I want to get GE futures beyond 11-15.
    And in the Orders Tab is up to 11-14.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your post.

    Please do the following to add a new expiration date:
    - Open up the Instrument Manager under the Tools menu
    - Locate and highlight the GE Futures contract in the middle section
    - Click Edit to open up the Instrument Editor
    - In the Instrument Editor select the Misc tab
    - On the Misc tab scroll down to ‘Contract months’
    - Left click on ‘.. contract months defined’ this will show a small box with 3 dots ‘…’
    - Left click on the small box
    - In the new Contract Box window click the New button
    - You’ll see a new contract month appear at the bottom saying ’08-13’
    - In the right window change the ‘Contract month’ to your desired date, so for example ’11-15'
    - Change the rollover date
    - Follow the last 4 steps from above to do this for each new front month you want to add
    - Once you’ve added all new front months click OKà OKà OK

    If you have the GE contract listed in your default instrument list in the Instrument Manager, then highlight it and click the ‘>’ and then click Edit. Once you’ve added all the additional front months, click OKà OK and then move it back to the default instrument list with the ‘<’ button. After this click OK.

    In addition, make sure to set in the Instrument Editor on the Definitions tab for the GE the Merge Policy to ‘Do not Merge’

    Let us know if you’re able to add the extra front months.

      I have done your steps but still not able to add new roll dates.
      I don't see the new roll dates in the Expiry options.(print screens attached).

        Hi,

        Thank you for your reply.


        What you need to do is the following:
        - Close NT
        - Change your PC clock to a date in the Future (for example January 2017)
        - Restart NT and then set up the new front months
        - Now they will show up if you check the Expiry box
        - After this close NT again and change your PC clock back to today

          Thanks Vince it worked.
          But I think NT should think of a better way to address this because this is a hell of a hack.
          BTW what is the offset option for?

            Hi,

            Glad to hear this did the trick for you.

            Thanks for your feedback, I will pass this on to development so they can put this on the list for future developments and give it a tracking ID. Once I’ve received a tracking ID number we will let you know.

            As for your question for the Offset, this is used to connect the last value of a contract month with the next one. We have more info available about this in our Help Guide here:

            Check under the section ‘Understanding the Misc tab’ and then scroll down to ‘Offset Value’

                Vince,

                I tried to do the same on a different PC but when I changed the date NT couldn't verify the license and the changes I made didn't save, so when I change the date back the new expiration where not there.

                Any advise?

                  Hi,

                  It could be that your firewall or Anti Virus software is preventing NinjaTrader to access the internet and saving the changes to your instruments. This is also why your license wouldn’t verify. Can you double check your firewall settings and Anti Virus settings to see if NinjaTrader is included to the list of exceptions on your other machine. When it’s not, please add it to this list and then re-enter your license and perform the same steps as before to add the future front months.

                  In addition, double check your PC clock on your other machine as inorrect pc clock time can also cause invalid license messages.

                  Let us know if this corrects your issue.

                    It is not a firewall/antiVirus issue(turned it off) because when I change back the clock its working again.
