Charting and Backtesting EMini

Hello,

I am trying to pull up a historical chart of the EMini (/ES) for about 5-7 years of data however because each /ES contract expires, I cannot pull much data from each contract.

Is it possible to get the EMini to overlap or extend after each contract expires? How am I able to pull enough information to accurately backtest?

Thank you for your post.

Currently there is not an option to overlap data when merging data within NinjaTrader. If you would like to test data prior and after the specified rollover data you would be required to set the merge policy for ES to "DoNotMerge with the steps provided below then Backtest using the specific dates you would like used.

• Tools-->Instrument Manager
• Select ES
• Edit
• Definitions tab
• Merge policy-->Set to "DoNotMerge"
• Click Ok
