Closing NT7 seems to cancel my stop loss order with broker

    Hi,

I'm new to live trading on NT7 using manual controls, and I've looked for more information on this but haven't found the answer yet so I wanted to ask here:

When I set a sell stop and a sell limit, OCO, I have them both showing as Accepted or Working, and then if I close NT7 and re-open it, the orders are shown as being cancelled. I'd rather that the orders remain in force in case my computer shuts down, or the program crashes, etc.

Am I just missing a toggle switch in Options somewhere? I'd like to know if there's a way for orders, particularly OCO orders, to not be cancelled out upon closing NT7 - thank you!

    Hello,

    Thank you for your note.

Which broker are you using with NinjaTrader at this time?

It's with MB Trading, and I see that OCO orders are handled by the local PC. I was still hoping that the order might actually rest on the server and that the cancelling would be issued by the PC if it was connected.

Would this mean that a simple sell stop would remain in force if it was not OCO?

Please let me know what's up - thanks!

        Hello,

Do you recall the state the orders were in prior to cancelation? Orders in a state "Accepted" or "Working" are at the exchange or on MBT's servers in situations where the exchange does not have native support for an order type.

Any locally held orders would be cancelled when you disconnect.

I just closed and reopened it to check it again..

I had a sell stop that was "accepted" and a sell limit that was "working"

But upon restarting NT7 they both show state of being cancelled

            Hi,

To confirm the orders were in a brokerage account and not NinjaTrader's Sim101 account correct?

That's correct - they were with a live forex account with MB Trading that I currently have an open position with. The Orders tab on the Control Center also verifies this in the information grid, showing that account
