Indicator in 'Edit Indicator' but not on chart

    Indicator in 'Edit Indicator' but not on chart

    Hi everyone

    I have an indicator (my own coding) and it works fine.

    However, after I did 'Save As...', the new name appears in 'Edit Indicator' (and I can open this without any problem) but it does not appear in 'Indicators...' on the chart. I haven't had this problem before.

    Version: 7.0.1000.14

    Any advice about this will be much appreciated.

    Thank you for your post.

    Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center after you open the Indicators window on a chart? If so, what do these errors report?

    Can you attach the indicator to your response so I may test this file I my end?

      Hi arbuthnot,

      It has been my experience that newly "saved as" indicators do not show up in the indicator list right away.

      Compile and save the indicator a few times. If its still not visible, then restart NinjaTrader and check again.

        Thanks very much for your replies.

        What happened is precisely as RJay described - all the indicators I've 'saved as' have taken some time to appear but they always do appear again.

        Patrick - there aren't any log entries that appear to related to this point.

        This is some kind of glitch that's obviously common - and has occurred with more than one of my indicators - so I'll leave it at that for the moment.

        Interestingly though, this has only happened since my version of NT was upgraded to 7.0.1000.14. I notice from messages that there have been other issues with this update, unrelated to this particular issue.

        Would it be worth reinstalling?

          Thank you for your response.

          I am glad you were able to resolve this matter. You should not need to uninstall and reinstall at this time based on this inquiry.
