    Point and Figure Charts

    Im new to point and figure charts.

    I know they create columns of x's and o's.
    But can the current price ever appear above/below the last column?

    For example when I look at GC futures my last column is green x's from 1370.5 to 1372.0.
    Yet my current price is 1373.1 ... how is that possible?

    Hello Steve,

    This can happen in P&F charts. Please wait a few moments and there should be X's or O's plotted in the empty space. See screenshots for an example. More information regarding P&F charts can be found at the link below.

      Thanks for the quick reply Jason

      Does that momentary absence of x's or o's occur for point and figure charts on other platforms or is it just the way Ninjatrader does it.

      And is there any way around the wait as it can take minutes for column to build and price may have moved considerably.

        Yes, you can avoid it by setting base period type/value to Tick 1.

        Unfortunately, I am not sure if other platforms function the same.
