    unable to connect to server at this time
    server is either busy or unavailable
    try again later



    any ideas ?

    Hello shanemcdonald,

    This message indicates that you were disconnected from the historical data server.

    You may restart NinjaTrader to get connected again and try to load up the chart again to get the data.

    If you are still getting the error message, then you may want to limit the amount of data that you are loading to help minimize this error message. Typically, you will get this error message when you are requesting a large amount of Historical Data, or the the connection to the Historical Data Server's times out due to high requests to keep the server available for all users.

      thank you jc

      can I just stay connected ? I am testing a dozen strategies of the same instrument and do not want to reconnect and rest them.

      I do not need historical data for the strategies, correct ?

        Hello shanemcdonald,

        If you are testing them out with real-time data, you would not need any Historical data but be aware that your strategy may not the entire Historical Data Available that you have set it to run on. So if your strategy uses all of the Historical data that you are requesting it may not calculate properly. Otherwise, if your strategy does not need a lot of historical data you should not notice any difference.
