Corn Futures

Hello

I'd like to know how to create a smooth chart (without gaps and huge bars) when changing the contract month for corn futures (ZC).

I switched from the 07-13 to the 12-13 contract this morning and I'm getting a huge bar on my chart.

I've asked a similar question for the CL contract in the past and I'm aware of the different steps as highlighted here:

The question that remains though is what rollover date I should choose. For the 12-13 contract it is Aug 26 by default, which is likely creating the huge bar on my chart.

Hello laocoon,

Please note that the ZC uses a 09-13 expiry month as well. It uses a rollover date of 6/24/2013. The 12-13 expiry uses 8/26/2013 as you mention.

If you like to avoid the large bar, please change the rollover date to a date before today.
