Newbie questions- mathematically comparing charts?

Hey fellow traders!

I'm new to NT and still learning the ropes. Have familiarized myself with the Chart component, however I'm still not what to research or if it's possible to do the following :


a) how does one do simple mathematical comparisons or expressions within the chart--
For example, (SPX divided by USDCAD) minus TSX or something like that.
Using multiple sources of data together in simple mathematical ways to produce new chart data. How would you do this?

b) averaging together custom time frames.
For example, if I wanted to average together the movement of a ticker from multiple months together to get the average movement during the months.


any pointers as to what I should research or learn?

It would show ways to work via multiple series via code - unfortunately this would not be possible via a point and click interface but on our list for consideration for a future platform update.
