    Copy DB in NT7

    Hello,

I'm having some difficulty backing up in a timely fashion, IF I want to backup historical chart data. I takes well over an hour, sometimes much more. I'm looking at the db folder properties, and it's still calculating files and space. It's over 15 gig and 250,000 files!

In another thread (http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/f...up+alternative) pertaining to NT6.5, there were instructions to just copy the entire \db folder.

That would be sooooo much simpler especially as this is just a backup in case of catastrophe and probably won't ever be used. Is there any downside to doing this? In the case of needing to use this data in a new install, is it simply a matter and pasting the copied folder into the correct location?

I just zip the whole thing into 1GB chunks.
