Xau/usd+ib+nt7=pain

The default settings for XAU/USD in the instrument manager does not load the chart. The chart message is security definition is not found.

IB introduced a new type called Commodity (CMDTY) about two years ago. It is defined on TWS as XAUUSD CMDTY.

My TWS version is 938.1e
The IB symbol map is XAU.USD

Unfortunately Commodity (CMDTY) is not a supported asset type within NinjaTrader.

Ok, you had a customer complain on 4/4/11 that XAU/USD was not working. And the NT programmers haven't fixed it yet, something as minor as adding a type to get a instrument to work.

So let me get this straight, if I want to chart XAU/USD the suggestion is to get Multicharts?

Since the type of functionality you are seeking is not presently supported within NinjaTrader, I have documented this particular feature support request and have sent it to our product development team.


Once I have a tracking ID for this particular feature support request, I will update this thread.


In the meantime, you can obtain data for XAU/USD with a connection to Kinetick.

I have heard back from development and we are tracking the suggestion to allow Commodity (CMDTY) be used as an asset type within NinjaTrader with tracking ID#835.
