    Missing data

    Hello

    I am relatively new to NT and there is something that I can't figure out.
    I am using CQG sim connection with NT and today there is a gap in the charts of 6E (cme euro fx futures)
    The gap is between 22:18:55 on 16 April 2013 and 9:49:13 on 17 April 2013.

    I tried to disconnect and reconnect and reload but nothing changes. Is the data missing from the feed itself or am I missing something.

    Does it make a difference if you right click in the chart and select 'Reload All Historical Data'? If not, please disconnect CQG and go to Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->Data-tab, click Repair DB. Restart NinjaTrader and check if all data is loaded.

    When I test the 6E 06-13 on my end while connected to CQG, I do not experience any missing historical data.

    If the issue remains, please exit NinjaTrader and go to C:\-->Users-->*Windows user account*-->Documents-->NinjaTrader 7-->db and delete the cache folder. Start NinjaTrader and check again.

      Thanks that worked...

      However I have another connection problem...The way I am currently using NT with CQG is that I set up the charts with the indicators and then step away from the computer and let a screen video recorder capture the market in real time so that I can review it later. Back testing and market replay data are just not reliable enough.

      I noticed that when I came back to the computer, I found that the charts are frozen at a certain price YET the connection tab in the lower right area of the control center says "connected" and its green and I tried to open up a browser to double check that the connection is okay..it was....but yet the prices and charts are frozen. I then tried to click "reload all historical data" and this message came up "error on reloading data: connection to data server is busy or not available right now. please try again later (not connected)"


      I reviewed the recorded to video to see what happened.

      Here's what came up..

      At times, my internet connection would disconnect for about a minute or two, the connection tab becomes red and says disconnected, then after the connection returns, the tab goes to green AND the prices and charts continue displaying real time data..

      This happened 2 times during the recording period and everything carried on smoothly. On the third time, when the connection returned and NT control panel said "connected" and the tab went green, the prices and chart REMAINED frozen on the state before disconnection.

      What went wrong there? How could I avoid this?

      Another worthy note, is that sometimes during the recording, I found that the connection tab would go red and still the prices and charts continue moving.. how come!

        Thanks for your reply.

        Please send your most current log and trace files in an email to support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com, so I may investigate this matter further.

        You will find the log file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Log folder.
        The log file will be named "log.20130418.txt"

        You will find the trace file on your PC in the (My) Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder.
        The trace file will be named "trace.20130418.txt"

        Once located please send both file as an attachment to your email.
        In the message please put ATTN Brandon and include a link to this forum topic.

        Also please include the time in which the charts no longer updated.

        Additionally I would suggest attempt to reselect the instruments in the chart to see if that would allow them to start updating once again.

          Missing whole1.5.2013 day NT+CQG

          Hallo

          I have NT+CQG and I am missing whole day 1.5.2013 in my graph even after I reloaded historical data or repaired database. Is this known issue to you?

            Thanks for your reply.

            So I may assist you further please answer the following.

            What instrument and expiry have you selected?

            (For a chart) what interval is selected?

            Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

              Missing whole1.5.2013 day NT+CQG

              Sorry I forgot to mention the name well its FESX 6/13 till yesterday was everything OK, interval is 1 min, no error log on the screen but NT log says :
              CQG.Adapter.SubscribeMarketDataResolve: The metadata for F.US.DSX.H/M12 has an invalid ContractNumber. Please contact Customer Service.
