    Hello sandman,

Thank you for the follow up.

It looks like the VPS meets the minimum PC requirements but just barely in regards to the amount of RAM.

You can ask the VPS company to increase the amount of RAM to around 4 GB to see if this helps to resolve the situation.

I have received your log and trace files and will send you another follow up via email.

Thanks Ryan. I emailed you. I had seen your reply and reviewed whether some strategy was not able to access some object. Correct. There was one like that. I fixed it by deleting that strategy and watched everything carefully the next day. Unfortunately the problem occurred again.

Asking the VPS company to increase the RAM is in progress.

I enclose a screen shot for your review. The top chart and TaskManager is from my computer (the one with no problems), the bottom chart and task manager is from the VPS. As you can see the VPS hung up again but I thought that perhaps by catching this in a screen shot it could lead to narrowing in on the problem.

I forgot about this thread and created a new one with support via email today. I will pass this information on to the support personnel for that one.

I read through the thread but it doesn't seem like there was resolution.

In the meantime, would Kinetick (owned by NT) be willing to give those of us having issues a few days to try this feed in order to get this resolved?

          Hello mcatmull,

Thank you for the follow up.

I am not sure if I understand the inquiry in regards to the Kinetick data feed and NinjaTrader PC performance?

There is not a trial version of Kinetick. With that being said you can connect to the Kinetick End of Day Free version from Control Center > File > Connect > Kinetick End of Day (Free).

I can investigate your ticket to our support department if you provide the ticket ID# (XXXXXXX)

Exact Same Hang is happening to me now

Today, my NT7 v00.31 crashed. Ever since the crash, everything takes a long time when I touch any of the panels. I never had this problem before and I've been using the same workspace for years. I have the exact setup: CQG, AMP VPC. I even went as far as reinstalling NT7 v0.31, resetting my instruments, resetting any simulated accounts, and I still get a SLOW response to anything I touch on my workspace. Has there been any solution to this hang?

            Any help would be appreciated.

              Hello geekodude,

              Thank you for your post.

So that I can look in to this please contact me by email at PlatformSupport [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com. In the message please include a link to this forum thread and a copy of today's trace file.

This diagnostic file is located in the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > Trace folder. I will need to review a copy of the file named 'trace.20160225.txt'.

                SSD Drive with NT7

I get the error in the chart window's title saying "not responding". Any idea what this is? I'm using an 8core machine, 8gigs ram, SSD HD.
Just a personal feedback...when I use a RAID SSD Drives to run NT7, it seems like NT7 become unresponsive with even just 1 open chart...the chart sort like flickers...and take a while to become responsive again...this issue does not occur with conventional HDD or SHDD on RAID1 mirror.

Like to know whether other users share the same problem with SSD Drive.

                  Geekodude.

I just read your post and have a comment because I also happen to use AMP, CQG and NT. In fact I have been using them for about the last four years with a PC and lap top out of Germany. Aside from some minor hick ups I never had any major problems.

Now comes the EXCEPTION: During those four years I started to use the services of a VPS (Virtual Private Server) in the U.S. and almost immediately started to experience the same problems you are now speaking about. See my earlier postings in this thread. It is my belief that the problem does not lie with AMP or CQG or NT but, very simply, the VPS company's computers. I was never able to figure out what exactly the problem was. I remember increasing the RAM but that did not change anything. And so I simply gave up on trying to make the VPS work.

Perhaps there are some other NT users who have experience using a VPS and could share information what to especially look for.

I stopped using a VPS and am happy with my personal PC.

                  That's my two cents.
