paper trading on delayed data

Hi,

Could we possibly run a scenario past you to get your views?

We are currently working with a colleague to paper trade a strategy we are looking to put live.

We are using IQ Feed with an IB Paper trading account.

The IQ Feed data is about 12 mins delayed.

One of the strategy entry criteria is determined by time. I have launched the strategy via the Control Centre.

If the strategy is due to take a trade at 13:30, when would the actual trade be executed? At actually 13:30 or at 13:42 (assuming 12 mins delay)?

ST10, sure thing. I would expect a delayed execution as the data driving the strategy sees the delay (you're connecting to IQFeed first, correct?). Which time interval / charttype are you running on here?

We are using 1 min bars for the moment. The plan is to take the strategy to tick data if preformat.

Yes, we are connecting to IQFeed first.
