Indicators start to calculate when data is still loading

Hello,

I have a tedious issue..... I have a personalized indicator that take rather some time to compute and unfortunately , when I connect to my data provider .... it seems that that NT does not wait that all the last data is loaded before calculating ....this has the consequence of freezing NT and after that all the charts I try to load and indicators are blank....see enclosed

As soon as I shut down the application and restart again , all is working again....

Do you have any trick to prevent this from happening ? Maybe a check to put in place in the indicator ( if data is loading then do not calculate ) ?

Hi gabga100, I could unfortunately not point to a simple check you could put into place here - how do you load / add the data in? Would you see any error message in the NT log tab when the issue occurs on first load?

I open NT and all my charts are working fine, then I connect to bar charts ....

then I see that data is loading in the down right window and all my charts start to recalculate... and I get the previously enclosed blank screen ( while data is still loading for the security).....

And I get this message

Unable to connect to NinjaTrader data server (64.202.118.179/31654): A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 67.215.65.132:31654

Thanks, would you get any other log error nothing an issue with the specific indicator applied?

I understand, if you load the same chart for example without indicator standalone, the display would be normal after loading?

I am sure it is not an indicator specific issue because the indicator works well if I close NT and re-open once all data for last day has been updated (so it will use all the new data it just downloaded). The problem really happens because the data is still loading . Furthermore I have never had any error in the log related to that specific indicator.

Once I get this blank chart , then everything is jammed meaning that every time I try to load any data in any charts it fails and return a blank chart ....

Would you have any idea on how I could code in the indicator , do not update if data is still being loaded ?
