trying to run a strategy on a chart connected to Sim data feed and the strategy icon is grayed out when right clicking on chart. Thank you

Thank you for your post and welcome to the NinjaTrader Support Forum!

Is the Chart Trader enabled on the chart? If so, disable the Chart Trader by right clicking in your chart > select Properties > set 'Show Chart Trader' to false > OK.

You cannot run the Chart Trader and an Automated NinjaScript Strategy on the same chart.

Im having this same problem, only I dont have Chart Trader on, but the strategy button is still grayed out.

Thank you for your post.

Are you connected to a data feed provider? You can check this by going to the NinjaTrader Control Center > check the bottom left hand corner of the Control Center > is there a green indication that states 'Connected'?

If not you will need to connect to a data feed provider to enable strategies on the chart. To connect to a data feed provider please go to the NinjaTrader Control Center > File > Connect > select your data feed provider.
