    Is it possible to trade from the charts in the Direct Edition? (March-2013)

    Hello,

    I was researching about his online and I've seen that at different points in time in the past was and was not possible to trade from the charts in the free NT version that's offered when you're starting with brokers like Mirus or AMP.

    Their websites point to http://www.ninjatrader.com/LP/Direct...on-Dynamic.php where it is said that charting and OCO is supported but as I've seen some comments from a few years ago where that was not the case I wanted to confirm.

    Is trading from the charts enable in the Direct edition nowadays (March-2013)?

    Thank you!

    Hello mickael28,

    Welcome to the NinjaTrader support Forums!

    Using the Direct Edition of NinjaTrader is a limited functionality version of our end-to-end trading platform. It comes with basic order entry and charting functionality, but the following features you will not have access to unless you upgrade your license key:

    * Advanced Trade Management (ATM) Strategies
    * One Cancels Other (OCO) Orders
    * Chart Trader
    * NinjaScript Development and Backtesting
    * Fully-Automated Trading
    * Order Entry Hot Keys
    * Volume-Triggered Simulated Stop Orders

        Thanks for this clarification.

        However does the NT Direct Edition provide a button to 'Trade Out', to flatten a position with one single click or this is considered an ATM feature?

          Hello paulg,

          You should be able to go to File -> Flatten Everything if you want you account to be flat.

            Hello !
            I want to buy a license and my question is which one of them I should buy. 1000$ for single broker or 1500$ for all supported. If now I buy for a single and later decide to change the broker, should I pay another 1000$, or just I can upgrade to the second option with multibroker support ?

              Hello greedforsuccess,

              Which license key you would want to purchase really depends on how you are going to be trading. If you want to trade to multiple broker simultaneously you may want to purchase the Multi-Broker.

              If you have purchased a Single Broker License Key and would like to upgrade you can just pay the difference to upgrade the license key. You can send a note to sales [at] ninjatrader [dot] com for any purchase inquiries.

                Are the buttons buy ask, buy bid, buy market, etc that are displayed on the chart supported in that edition? or which possibilities would you have to enter the orders with NT Direct edition?

                  Hello,

                  Chart Trader cannot be used in the Direct Edition version. Orders would need to be submitted via the SuperDOM, Basic Entry window or using the Orders tab of the Control Center.
