Short sale restriction

Hello,

I'm running an automated strategy on NT7 with Interactive Brokers (paper account) and IQFeed.
This morning I have noticed "Short Sale restriction" on the stock I'm trading.
Still, my strategy shorted the stock. I guess IB allowed this only because order was issued on paper account.

- Is there a way to check for Short Sale Restriction in the code?

Hello michaelsh,

I do not believe that you would be able to check for this inside of NinjaTrader as it may only be reported on IB's side. When the order is confirmed inside of the Log tab does IB send any information to NinjaTrader about this?

I don't see any information in the log files - just normal trades. This is expected since trade is still going through (see my post).
If IB would reject the order would "Order Rejected" event arise in NT? If yes, how would you suggest monitoring it?

Hello michaelsh,

You may use OnOrderUpdate() to be able to monitor the order status. If an order gets "Rejected" and you want handle it manually you may use the RealtimeErrorHandling to be able to control what to do in the event of a "Rejection".
