Modifying the Swing Indicator?

Hello,

I have a quick question regarding the Swing Indicator:

The description of the "Strength" parameter of the Swing Indicator states: 'Number of bars required on each side of the swing point'

What I'd really like is to have the indicator show me is if the current bar is the highest of the past 5 bars (or whatever the strength parameter).

Basically, I'd like the indicator to only look back the specified number of bars instead of needing 5 bars after the peak/valley.

Is this possible?

Welcome to our forums Todd - so you would seek to change the Swing point definition then to having x lower # of bars to confirm a swing high for example?

Wouldn't this be very close to what the Donchian Channels would do?

Ultimately the Swing indicator code would be open for you to review and apply changes as desired.

Hm. I thought that what you describe is called a Donchian Channel?

The Donchian Channel indicator clutters my chart more than I'd like so I decided I needed to learn some C# and modify the code myself.

I was able to modify the code for the swing indicator so it only looks x numbers of bars back and a single bar forward, allowing me to have the swing line begin painting one bar after a swing and not x bars after a swing.
