FOREX.com & ninjatrader

hope this is the correct section to ask this question.

ive been looking for a broker in the UK which i can use ninjatrader with.

i contact FOREX.COM on phone AND chat asking what spreads they offer on currencies if i trade through Ninjatrader. as they advertise other spreads for different platforms.

they then come out with this on the chat page
"
Martin: Hi Mark

Martin: We just spoke on the phone.

Martin: Have you checked with NINJA support Mark?

Mark : emailed them

Martin: And no anwser yet?

Mark : nope. i can open an account with forex.com and trade using ninjatrader cant i?

Martin: Correct.

Martin: But IB's (introducing brokers) such as NINJA dont use our direct account spreads.

Martin: Because in many cases they get compensated by the spread.

Martin: So you should really check with them, and demand an anwser from them.

Mark : but ninjatrader isnt a broker? its an platform

Martin: Correct

Mark : so they dont have anything to do with the spreads the broker (forex.com) would?

Martin: No

Martin: Because the business model for this IB's, is based on spread.

Martin: So they usually widen the spread

Martin: If you open a direct account with us

Martin: I can give you all the info you need.

Mark : i want to open an account direct with you BUT use ninjatrader as my platform

Martin: Yeah, that's not possible. Our platforms are Forex Trader PRo, Meta, and TRADE ."


can someone shed some light on this as i am really confused. it doesnt make sense.

Hello,

You an use GAIN with NinjaTrader as long as the account has been branded to work with NinjaTrader. We do not determine the spreads, these are determined by the brokerage you are using. You are correct that we are just the platform.

they still say you are the broker and you choose the spreads. and they are acting as a clearing film. im baffled. im staying away from GAIN/FOREX.com.

I myself have been trying to locate a UK broker that runs with Ninja. I didn't know about Forex.com and that exchange doesn't seem to make sense to me either.

But certainly FXCM UK does:

(FXCM is a very reputable US based company - one of the biggest Forex brokers.)

They specialise in Forex and their spreads in these spot markets, if you use Ninja to trade with, are fairly competitive. (I make this point because trading automatically with Ninja is so much more efficient - providing you have a good strategy!)

Their spread in the cash Dow is 4, which is so uncompetitive that it's hardly worth using Ninja to trade it.

I'd be very interested to hear how you get on.

Further to my previous post, Mark, just to add that FXCM UK's website doesn't as yet mention Ninja as one of their platforms, but Ninja has only just become available there and I've had a couple of discussions with them about it.

I see that Matthew at Ninja support has just posted re FXCM.

ye been looking at fxcm as my last choice as some of the spreads are rather steep eg. eurnzd. but looks like my only choice.

i was originally going to use MB Trading but they recently closed their UK office, so all accounts are in the US. will have to talk to accountant about tax though.

IB looks pretty good but have a minimum deposit for new account by looks of it so for the mean time il have to use someone else!

its a shame there isnt more choice with Ninjatrader in the UK. i love the platform
