Vendor data servers upon connection or NT servers pros and cons

Is it better to use the servers direct on Gain or NT servers (same for others like TDA, ZF etc)? Could you explain the reasoning for selecting NT servers or the vendor servers and pros/cons?

Hello birdog,

Only the GAIN connection has the option to use either the GAIN or NinjaTrader servers.

GAIN servers only offer 24 hours of historical data while the NinjaTrader servers offer much more.

I think TD Ameritrade can be turned off and on to on the Account Connection setting too.

How does it effect TDA with using there servers vs. not in the settings?

TD Ameritrade only has access to turn off Historical Data.

This option exists so that you can use another data provider such as Kinetick to provide historical data.
