    Fib Time Extensions

Many drawing tools allow to retain default settings. On the Fib Time extensions I enter new values (e.g. 261.8) on default or custom but neither re-appear on subsequent drawings. Is there a method to enter the levels so that they are maintained and do not have to be constantly re-entered?

    Hello AlphaOptions,

    Thank you for your post.

You can save your settings in the Default template of the Fibonacci Retracement to accomplish this.

To save your custom Fibonacci Retracement values as your default retracement template please do the following:
    • Draw a Fibonacci Retracement on your chart
    • Double click on the retracement to open the Fibonacci Retracement Window
    • Set your desired custom settings
    • Right click on the Fibonacci Retracement window --> Manage Templates (this will open the Manage Templates window)
    • Use the Name "Default" for the retracement --> Save on the Manage Templates window
    • Select OK --> on the Fibonacci Retracement properties window
    • For more information, including a video demonstrating this feature, please visit this link and view the, "Understanding Fibonacci Drawing Object Templates" portion.

Now when you draw a retracement on your chart your custom default template will be used.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

This will help for the retracement tool, but I was asking in this case about the Fib Time Extensions.

        Hello AlphaOptions,

        My apologies.

This is the same case for this tool as well.

Please let me know if the previous procedure works for the Fibonacci Time Extension, as well.

I think I got it - if you right click the general tab, then you can manage the templates using same process. Great help - thank you.

            Hello AlphaOptions,

Yes, you can absolutely do this, however I want to mention it does not have to be on the, "General Tab," it can be any gray area within that properties screen.

I was expecting the same effect for the pitch fork tool, but this is not the case - as far as I can tell. This is a surprise to me as generally speaking Medianline sets are used ( at a minimum ) in pairs, with one for up slope and another for down slope. If multiple defaults are out of the question to program, then at the least having the ability to change colors with one click instead of many would be a tremendous help, as traders that use median lines generally draw quite a bit. ; )
