Importing large forex tick data

Hi Ninjas,

I've bought a very large forex tick data ( 28 Gbyt ) as a text file, in the format accepted by NT, but whenever I try to import it, NT freezes. Imagine that this could be by the size of the file, what solutions could I have to solve it?

Yes, I do not believe NinjaTrader is frozen but since that file is very large it is probably going to take a very long time before it finishes importing so since the processor is busy it will look like it is frozen. As Baruch suggested it may be best to split up the file into smaller pieces.

Yep,I had to split the file but with a special program, cause any other splitter software always cut the data in a wrong way. It was a little complex but it's already solved. Thanks
