Limit on number of strategies

Hello,

I would like to know if anyone has experience in running a high number of automatic strategies in one single NT instance.

My plan is to run over 100 strategies over 20 charts.

Any performance limitations?
Any idea of how much RAM needed? 8 GB will enough?
Has the number of strategies any impact on perfomance of NT?

Juan,

This is all going to come down to how resource intensive your strategy is. A strategy that was just looking for a MACD crossover would not be as intensive as a strategy that was using volume profile. It will also depend on how active the contracts you're trading are intraday, and how much historical data is required for your strategy to calculate.

It would be very hard for someone to predict the resources your strategy would require and you will need to benchmark your strategies and determine how intensive they are.

Thanks for your fast response.

My strategies are rather simple: SMA crossovers, MACD crossovers with timerames higher than 30m usually.

But they do a lot of read from text file, close text file, write text file. In every bar.

I am currently running around 30 with no problem.

I know it is hard to predict perfomarnce. I guess I should try and see what happens.
