Why do i need to download replay data?

I have a question. If i have 3+ years of tick data, why do i need to download replay data, shouldnt it simply be able to utilize the historical data i have imported for simulation practice? doesnt make sense ....

plus i cant download replay data except for a year? and right now its not even allowing me to do that, it says 'error on downloading replay data: connection to data server is busy or not available right now. please try again later.' previously, it was freezing...

Hello Starry,

Replay data is a little bit different than tick data would only be granular to a second when Replay data will in the order that the ticks come in.

You may use the Strategy Analyzer if you are trying to test an Automated Strategy.

I can confirm that our Servers are up. That message indicates that you were disconnected from the historical data server.

You may restart NinjaTrader and see if you can get the data.

Glad to hear that you have things in working order at this point.

Market Replay data availability varies though some instruments will have around a year of data available.

Market Replay Data for TICK, TRIN

how can i get market replay data for the TICK and the TRIN. I switch to "INDEX" and used the Ninja Symbols without " ^ " but it says I have to choose level 1 or level 2, and there isn't any. Do you all carry it on your servers?

can i not used these symbols for replay because they are not actually traded? How can I replay my charts the way I have them set up in real time?

At this time the Market Replay data servers offer data for only the most commonly traded futures and forex instruments. In order to replay TICK or TRIN, data would need to be recorded in real-time.
