Point and Figure

I pulled up a point and figure chart for 6B. However, the columns seem to reset every new day as opposed to just tracking high and low prices (pic attached). I've changed the session template several times (matching the product seesion, 24/7, 24/5 etc.) but the prices don't plot correctly. I've also run in to issues where the chart won't pick up the highs and lows despite my base time period being set to ticks. Is there any way to address these two issues?

Hello cgian,

Unfortunately this is as expected with Point and Figure bars in NinjaTrader. The last bar of the session is cut off. This is to ensure that historical data does not change. If we would not cut off the last bar of the session but run it continuously, you will experience different historical data each day.

For example, your P&F chart requests 5 days of historical data. So the next day, the starting point of the P&F chart moved one day as well. If a different starting point is used, it can change the historical data. Because we cutt of the last bar we ensure historical data will be the same in future sessions.

As per the base time period, we recommend using 'Tick 1' - the P&F boxes/columns will be the most accurate.
