Default account for ChartTrader

Can I set my brokerage account (MB trading) as the default account for ChartTrader? It always starts up with SIM101 active. I don't want to get rid of SIM101, I just want to have my brokerage account as the default.

I am not starting up in Global Simulation Mode.

Thanks for writing in.

Unfortunately it is not possible to set a default account to select in your order entry windows however following the steps below will allow your workspace to open with your live accounts selected.

First if you have connect on start up enabled for your connectivity provider you must disable this by going to Tools> Account Connections
Select your account and press Change

After you have adjusted the settings to not connect on start up you can select your live accounts in your order entry windows
Last you will be able to save your workspace by going to File> Workspaces> Save Workspace

Development is taking into consideration the feature of setting a default account.

The above technique does not seem to work with MBT unless I misunderstood it.

I see it is possible to delete/remove a sim account in the Options dialog. If I remove Sim101 will I be able to re-add it later (or add another sim account) if I need to?

Thanks for your reply.

The previous steps will work to have your workspace saved with your live account.

It is not possible to remove the sim101 account. You will get a message letting you know it can not be removed.

OK -- thanks for the reply. I have to use Connect on Startup normally because I open an MBT Nav instance on startup (I need this for options at minimum). Will the method still work for setting up the workspaces?

I would like to do the same. If I start NinjaTrader all the charts show the Sim101 account, and my default account is set to the MB Trading account I use.
