New PC - Best Installation practice

Hello,
Just bought a new PC and I intend to use it for NT. How do I most efficiently transfer everything form my old PC to the new one and maintian as much as possible i.e. custom indicators, workspaces etc.....

Thank you for your post.

If you want to transfer everything to another PC such as settings, templates, ect. the best way is to create a backup file and transfer this to restore on the other PC. Once your Backup file has been created it can be found in Documents-->NinjaTrader Backup.

Before reinstalling, I saved my workspaces, upon reinstalling with the same custom ninjascript (no errors on importing the script) , I do not have the specfiic bartype I used to have before. - under Strategies I cannot see it. What could be the problem.

Please compile your indicators with the steps I have provided below.

• Tools
• Edit NinjaScript
• Indicators
• Select ADL
• Click Ok
• Within the code window please right mouse click-->Compile
• X out of the window

Please let me know if you then see your bar type available when creating a chart.

Workspaces have little to do with the matter that you have raised. Have you copied the "CustomType,cs" file to the correct folder on the new installation?

I did the steps Christopher, but it did not bring back theat bar type which is
__HarmonicBar, is specific to the strategy zio file I am loading. It loaded okay but
this barttype is still missing. You mean by backing up and restoring would I have avoided this issue?

This file should be saved as part of the BarsType.cs file. So I may test please send a note to Support [AT] NinjaTrader [DOT] com with "ATTN: Chris Jameson" in the subject line.
