Running multiple instances of strategy optimizer

Hi,
I am wondering if I could simultaneously run a few optimizer on different instrument at the same time on the same PC.
I see CPU utilization is quite low from one optimizer running, and i want to make use of time by running more instances at the same time.

Hello,

Yes you can do this. Just open up a new Strategy analyzer window (file -> new -> strategy analyzer) and start the test in the same way. Please do keep in mind that this will put additional strain on your system and could cause the tests to take longer to complete.

I guess what I am asking is it won't create any side effects on results?
re: CPU stress, currently it's only running less than 20% of my CPU utilization.
Additional optimizer will add to it or just split the 20% with the 2nd instance of optimizer, hence takes longer?

Hello,

It will not affect the end results. As you run it you will notice your cpu usage climb to max usage on all your cores as the optimization becomes more robust.

Each optimization is a series of backtests. An individual backtest is no split between cores, but the different backtests from the optimizations are. As you add more optimizations they will be split throughout your cores until you are at max usage.
