Workspaces only loaded after Kinetick disconnected

    Hi guys

Initially today, my current workspace wouldn't load at all. I tried other workspaces and they didn't load either. All I could see was an empty chart with something like 'Data loading...'

However, as soon as I disconnected Kinetick, there was no longer a problem. It all worked fine.

Then, with the workspaces loaded, I tried to load Kinetick and the same situation recurred: the charts went back to 'Data loading...'

Is this a known issue? If so, I'd be very grateful to hear about a way to solve this problem. Much obliged.

(Yes, I could to reduce the number of charts, etc., but maybe there's some kind of conflict somewhere.)

    Hi,

I have the same problem. It's the first time I logged in this year and it's like arbuthnot discribed.

It doesn't matter if I have many charts open or only one. Also using a different/clean workspace does not help. It is independent from the currency pair used.

When I disconnect Kinetick the charts load, but only with data till Dec 28 (from my HDD, loaded last weekend).

The data of the new year is NOT loaded into the cache folder and the windows task manager shows that the CPU is at around 25-35% until I disconnect Kinetick (after waiting half an hour), then it's at 4%.

This only concerns second(tick) data for me, miunte data works fine.

So maybe NT/Kinetick has some problems with new years tick data ?

Oh, and the Control Center shows
    "Loading data ... $EURUSD (31.12.2012 01:00:00: - 06.01.2013 23:59:59)"
until I disconnect (so basically forever if I wanted).

Using time intervals of last year works fine, also with Kinetick being connected.

I think we don't get (new years) tick data.

    -------------------------

I have another, more general, question: Why does NinjaTrader need so much CPU power to wait for data? Shouldn't that be added to the bug list? Really.

      I have made a test:

I removed from the folder /db/tick/$EURUSD all data starting form Dec 21, deletet /cache/tick, then started NT, connected to Kinetick and made a new chart:

      type: tick data
      start: Dec 17
      end: Dec 28

So NT would need to load data from 21 to 28 Dec.

Guess what? It does not work. I don't get any tick data, old years data is not differnet.

The folder /cache/tick/$EURUSD stays empty. Nothing is added to /db/tick/$EURUSD.

        Works just fine now.

Maybe it was just an unannounced maintenance.

        Problem solved.

          Hello,

Thank you for the update. I would like to verify, has this issue has been resolved for both of you?

Thanks very much for getting back, Lance.

I can confirm that today (the one following my post) now I've launched NT, the charts have loaded and Kinetick is working normally. I assume it was a one-off glitch, although it did persist after I'd rebooted Windows yesterday.

I'm wondering if there are any known issues of Kinetick producing a conflict in this way, even temporarily.

              Hello,

I'm not currently aware of any known issues that would cause this. It could have been temporary maintenance. I will discuss this with my colleagues tomorrow and l report back if this was not the issue.
